How can I improve my chances of success?
Because the recruitment procedure is so sophisticated there’s very little luck involved, and question nine in the application form actually asks what you have done to prepare yourself for the recruitment process. So it’s obvious that you are expected to study all the skills, abilities, and competencies you’ll be asked about before you actually start completing the form. As with many challenges in life, practise makes perfect, and we’ll help you to prepare for every assessment you’ll meet and guide you through every step of the procedure. Reading through the workbooks and learning from the feedback we’ll give you, you’ll soon develop the learning and underpinning knowledge you need to make a confident and realistic application.

There are many ways in which you can, and should prepare. For example, you may be in first-class physical condition, but if not, diet, exercise, and the guidance of an experienced fitness coach will help. If you don’t use arithmetic, spelling and good grammar regularly, these skills become neglected. Or it may be that literacy and numeracy were not well taught at the school you went to. You’ll also need to know a lot about subjects which you might not have given much thought. For example, when did you last discuss subjects such as understanding diversity, accepting responsibility, customer care, and many more topics which just don’t come up every day?
